h. hAMMOK duo spent the majority of their spare time building "electro-michanical patterns" which originate from the sounds of broken music boxes as their spring motors wind down. Filtering these clumsy, plinky-plonk tones through ring modulators, frequency shifters and filters, they add a digitized patina which comfortably sounds like many of their granular synthesis within similarity versatile software programs.

However, Fe and Zho has decidedly utilitarian intentions for their random electronic swamp. They propose these recordings are adaptations of their ideals — music can strike a balance between the worldly body and the ethereal body. The duo intend that the shimmering tones of their music should heighten the latter and calm the former. This utopian aspect of ideas hedge a little to close to new age territory, but the musical interludes succeed as pleasantly quirky experiences.
